Henry

Muay Thai Coach

Henry’s journey into the world of Muay Thai started at the age of 17, he was an avid soccer player, committed to the team sport he had loved since childhood. Despite his dedication, Henry had a want to try individual sports those where his performance and progress rested solely on him. When a friend invited him to a trial Muay Thai class at Phoenix, Henry initially expected to dislike it. To his surprise, he fell in love with the sport immediately. Despite looking for an individual sport,  he was surprised how much he liked the teamwork training and hard work culture at Phoenix.

As he progressed in the sport of Muay Thai he transitioned from beginner class to advanced class. The advanced class were intimidating, as advanced fighters were far more skilled, stronger, and more conditioned than he was. After a few classes and sparring sessions of getting beaten up Henry has a new found determination to try and surpass the level of skill, strength and fitness that the other fights had.

Henry first fought when he was 19 years old. The thought of fighting in front of an audience, half naked, was terrifying for Henry and the prospect of facing an opponent that had tattoos was even more daunting. Despite these apprehensions, Henry won his debut fight and got hooked on the feeling of winning and has competed ever since.

Henry is a regular coach at Phoenix coaching across all programs including Personal Training sessions. Henry loves helping others enjoy their progression and work through their fears to become champions.
