Phoenix knows how to get beginners started. People want to try before they buy. People need to experience and feel the training to decide if it is right for them. Phoenix training is developmental, challenging and fun. We get beginners to start at set times to ensure they have people at the same level to start with. 

ADULTS:
Anyone wanting to try Adult classes (Juniors from 15+) can do a FREE TRIAL in Beginner Classes suitable for first timers. 

  • When Can I do my FREE Trial? At the Monday 5:30pm class or Thursday 7:00pm class.
  • After your Trial you can join immediately and benefit from a choice of multiple classes offered 6 days a week.
  • Anyone 18+ can also get 24hr access to the gym for own training. 

CHILDREN:

  • Children’s Classes >> You can do a FREE TRIAL (IN THE FIRST 3 WEEKS OF SCHOOL TERM) at the time slot that is for your Childs age group.
  • You must book as numbers are limited. 
  • Juniors 11+ can do a FREE TRIAL in ACT School Holidays aswell. 

If you would like to talk and look first. You can do this Mon to Thurs > 4:00pm & 8:00pm or Sat  > 9:00am to 12:00pm.

A bit more info:

  • We function on punctuality. ANYONE DOING A TRIAL MUST BE THERE 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE CLASS!
  • TRIALS ARE 2 WAY FOR EVERYONE >> MEANING, we also talk to you about suitability, aptitude and if Phoenix is for you. Children are assessed for effort and behaviour.
  • Everyone wonders if they are fit enough. You have to start to get fit enough. A fitness Baseline guide. Am I fit enough to start? Click here
  • If any potential member (adult or child) has a diagnosed disorder, is very inactive, or obese they will be required to get specialist medical approval BEFORE doing a trial class or joining.

Adults

Your trial is in a Beginner Class suitable for first timers. You will get guidance and instruction to follow along with the class. We will lend you the equipment you need. 

This class is to get every new member past the first awkward challenging stage and comfortable training at Phoenix.  

  • What do I wear? Anything athletic and easy to exercise in. We do not train in shoes. Most people train in shorts and a t-shirt or singlet. You wont see anyone in lycra tights.
  • Do  I need my own equipment? No, we will lend you what you need. If you have equipment, bring it in and we will see if it is suitable.
  • Can I wear any Jewellery? NO, nothing – zippo. Take it out before you start.
  • Is there a min age? For adult classes the min age is 15. However please talk to us about suitability as it depends on fitness, maturity and size more than age.
  • Can I start if I am running late? NO
  • What next? At the end of the trial, you just join as a member and continue training. 

Children

The trial is a one day trial in the first 3 weeks of school term. It is for both of us to assess suitability.  

  • What day do I turn up for my trial? You book what ever day you want in the first 3 weeks of the school term. 11+ can do a trial in the School Holidays. 
  • What do I wear? Anything athletic and easy to exercise in. We do not train in shoes. Most people train in shorts and a t-shirt or singlet.
  • Do  I need my own equipment? No, we will lend you what you need. If you have equipment, bring it in and we will see if it is suitable.
  • Can I wear any Jewellery? NO, nothing zippo. Take it out before you start. Including wrist bands. 
  • Is there a min age? Children must have turned 5.
  • Can I start if I am running late? NO.
  • What next? You join if approved and you want to.
